Our story
We stood in the queue ourselves.
In 2023, our founders spent three hours in a WhatsApp group trying to coordinate buying tickets to a concert in Nairobi. The link led to an international platform that didn't accept M-Pesa. The alternative was cash at the door — and a sold-out show.
That frustration became a conviction: East Africa deserved a ticketing platform that was actually built for it. Not adapted. Not a skin on a Western product. Built from scratch for the reality of how East Africans communicate, pay, and show up to events.
We launched in Dar es Salaam in early 2024. By year end we were operating across Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda, and Ethiopia. In 2025 we sold our first million tickets. Today, Eventia is the infrastructure behind some of the region's most iconic events.
What we believe
Principles, not just policies.
Built for here, not adapted from there
Every product decision starts with the East African context — M-Pesa first, WhatsApp-native sharing, offline-capable scanning.
Speed is respect
Organisers work hard. Waiting 21 days for a payout disrespects that work. We move money in 24 hours.
The organiser succeeds, we succeed
We only win when the event sells. Zero setup fee. No listing fee. We take 5% only when a ticket is bought.
Works where you are
Nairobi, Stone Town, Itanda Falls, Millennium Hall. The gate scanner caches 30,000 tickets and works without WiFi.
