1. Acceptance of terms
By accessing or using Eventia ("the Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to all these terms, do not use the Platform. These terms apply to all users including event organisers ("Organisers") and ticket buyers ("Attendees").
2. Account registration
You must provide accurate, current, and complete information when creating an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. Eventia reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
3. Organiser obligations
Organisers are solely responsible for the events they list, including accuracy of event details, delivery of the event as described, and compliance with applicable laws. Organisers must complete KYC (Know Your Customer) verification before receiving payouts. Eventia acts as a ticketing intermediary and is not liable for event cancellations or failures by the Organiser.
4. Fees and payouts
Eventia charges a platform fee of 5% (Starter) or 4% (Pro) per sold ticket. By default this fee is passed to the buyer as a booking fee. Payouts are processed within 24 hours of the event ending. Eventia reserves the right to withhold payouts in cases of suspected fraud, excessive chargebacks, or active disputes.
5. Refunds and cancellations
Organisers set their own refund policies. Eventia will facilitate refunds where required by law or where the Organiser's policy permits. In the event of cancellation by the Organiser, Eventia will process full refunds to all ticket holders. See our Refund Policy for full details.
6. Prohibited conduct
You may not use the Platform to list fraudulent events, sell tickets to events you do not have the right to sell, engage in ticket scalping above face value, or use automated bots to purchase tickets. Violation may result in immediate account termination and legal action.
7. Intellectual property
Eventia and its logos, product names, and platform design are trademarks of Eventia Africa Ltd. Event content uploaded by Organisers remains their property; by uploading it, you grant Eventia a non-exclusive licence to display it on the Platform and in promotional materials.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Eventia's total liability to you for any claim arising from these terms or your use of the Platform shall not exceed the fees you paid to Eventia in the 12 months preceding the claim. Eventia is not liable for any indirect, consequential, or punitive damages.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United Republic of Tanzania. Any disputes shall be resolved by arbitration in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, except where prohibited by local law.
10. Changes to terms
We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify registered users by email and in-app notification at least 14 days before material changes take effect. Continued use of the Platform after that date constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
